Questions about finding treatment

How do I know which kind of treatment someone needs

Most people start with an assessment rather than picking a program cold. A doctor, or the team on the helpline, can talk through what each level of care involves: a medically supervised detox, residential treatment, or a program you attend while living at home.

Does insurance cover addiction treatment

Usually at least part of it. What a plan pays depends on the plan and on the level of care, and it is worth knowing the answer before committing to anywhere. Checking cover is one of the things the helpline does on the call.

Can I arrange treatment for someone who has not asked for help

You can find out what is available near them and what it would cost. Plenty of people make that call for a partner, a son or a daughter. Going in with the options already worked out changes the conversation when they are ready to have it.

What if nothing is listed in my town

People travel for treatment in a way they do not travel for a meeting, and a center an hour away is often the right one. Open your state page and look at the nearest cities, or call and someone will look wider than one town.
