Questions about NA in Joplin

Are there NA meetings in Joplin, MO?

20 meetings sit in Joplin itself.

How many of these meetings are open?

The list above includes 19 open meetings.

Are any meetings near Joplin wheelchair accessible?

Wheelchair access is noted on 4 of the rows above.

Is there a meeting at the weekend in Joplin?

The weekend carries 6, and the weekdays carry 14.

Are there meetings outside working hours?

Between 9:30 AM and 11:00 PM, depending on the day you pick.

Am I allowed at a meeting if I am not the one using?

Family are welcome at open meetings and are not at closed ones. A lot of members remember being driven to their first meeting by somebody else. Ask the person going which they would rather, because being taken and being driven are different experiences.

Can I go to NA if I am on methadone or Suboxone?

Yes. The requirement for membership is a desire to stop using, and a prescribed medication does not change that. Do not stop or reduce a prescribed medication in order to attend anything. That decision belongs with whoever prescribed it. The schedule above gives you several groups to try rather than one.

Do I have to speak at a meeting?

No. Most people say nothing at their first few. A speaker meeting is one member telling their story for most of the hour, which means almost nobody else speaks at all. A bigger meeting is easier to be quiet in than a small one.
