Frequently Asked Questions
What Should I Expect at My First Meeting?

Is My Privacy Protected?
Yes, NA meetings are confidential. Members agree to keep what is shared within the group private. This confidentiality encourages open and honest communication without fear of judgment or repercussions.
How Much Does It Cost to Attend?
NA meetings are free. There are no fees or dues to attend. Some groups may pass a basket for voluntary contributions to cover expenses like room rental and literature, but donations are not required.

Questions about NA in Michigan
What is on this page?
428 meetings a week in Michigan, in 104 towns. The list is ordered by how much each place holds, so the busiest is first.
What is the busiest town in Michigan?
Detroit holds the most, 53 meetings. Then Lansing with 29 and Kalamazoo with 28.
Is anywhere left off this page?
42 of the 104 towns on this page have four meetings a week or fewer. A small town meeting is often the one people keep going back to, so none of them is left off.
What happens at a first N.A. meeting?
An hour in a room with chairs, usually a church hall or a community center, and far less ceremony than most people picture. There is no form to fill in and no joining. Turning up is the whole of it. Going with somebody is easier than going alone, and nobody will mind.
Can I do this without going into a room?
Yes. Online meetings run around the clock and are not tied to where you live. An online meeting at six in the morning is a real option in a way an in person one at six in the morning usually is not. Either kind counts, and there is no hierarchy between them.
Could any of this be out of date?
Mostly, and they come from what each group puts out rather than from anything decided here. Venues change more often than times do. A church hall closing for a month moves a meeting somewhere else nearby. If you are driving any distance for one particular meeting, it is worth checking with the group first.
