Questions about NA in Forest Park

How many meetings are near Forest Park?

18 meetings, listed above earliest first for each day.

What is the nearest town with a meeting?

Most of them sit in Cicero with 9 and Chicago with 4.

Which day has the most meetings in Forest Park?

Wednesday has the most, with 5 meetings.

Are there meetings outside working hours?

There is something as early as 10:00 AM and something as late as 7:00 PM.

Which meetings near Forest Park can anyone attend?

The list above includes 7 open meetings.

Can I get someone to a meeting if they have not asked for help?

You can open the door. You cannot walk them through it. Most people go when a particular thing happens, not when they are persuaded, so having the details ready matters more than the argument. Pick the open meeting closest to them and keep it somewhere you can find it.

Should I go to detox or to a meeting?

A meeting can do a great deal and it cannot supervise a withdrawal. Coming off opioids, benzodiazepines or alcohol without medical supervision can be dangerous, and that part is not something a meeting can watch. Meetings and clinical treatment are not alternatives, and plenty of people do both at once.

What is the difference between NA and AA?

NA does not separate alcohol out from other drugs, which is the main difference between them. NA members talk about drugs generally rather than naming one substance, which some people find easier. The question answers itself after two or three visits.
