AA meetings in Douglas, GA

5 inside 15 miles, across 2 cities. Every row says which town it is in and how far.

Not every day. Meetings are listed on 5 days, and Wednesday and Thursday have nothing.

4 of the 5 listed here are marked open, which means anyone can attend, including family. 1 is marked closed, for people who want to stop drinking.

One, and everything it runs is listed above. A group is the set of people who hold a meeting, so one group can account for several entries in the week.

Not many. 5 meetings within 15 miles is what the public lists hold, and that is the whole of it rather than a page one of several.

Many do. It is a local decision rather than a policy anywhere. Some groups sign and some decline, and a group is within its rights either way, so the only dependable step is to ask before the meeting starts. A larger meeting is more likely to have someone used to handling it.

Someone chairs it, somebody reads something, and people talk in turn. A newcomer is usually asked if there is anyone there for the first time, and saying nothing is a perfectly normal answer. The venue and start time for each one are in the schedule above.

Both are used heavily and neither is treated as second best. The format of an online meeting follows the same pattern as a room: an opening, readings, people speaking in turn. Starting online and switching later is a common route.
