Format
Showing 103 of 103 meetings in Hackett.
Nothing matches all of those at once. Try taking one off.
What these mean
- Open
- Anyone may attend, including family, friends and people who are simply curious. Nobody has to say why they came.
- Closed
- For people who have a desire to stop drinking. If you are not sure that is you, an open meeting is the safe first choice.
- Online
- Held online rather than in a room. The row shows the Zoom details where the group publishes them.
- Newcomer
- Aimed at people at their first few meetings. Someone will usually explain how it works before it starts.
- Women
- Only women attend.
- Men
- Only men attend.
- LGBTQ
- Run by and for LGBTQ members.
- Spanish
- Held in Spanish.
- Discussion
- A topic is raised and whoever wants to speak does. You can sit through the whole hour without saying anything.
- Big Book
- Reading and discussion from Alcoholics Anonymous, the book members call the Big Book.
- Literature
- Reading and discussion from AA literature.

Questions about AA in Hackett
How many AA meetings are within driving distance of Hackett?
103 within 15 miles, which is how far this page had to reach to show you a full week. 2 are in Hackett itself.
Is there an AA meeting every day in Hackett?
There is at least one listed every day of the week, including Tuesday, which is the thinnest day here with 13 meetings.
Can I go to a meeting in Hackett if I am not sure I am an alcoholic?
84 of the 103 listed here are marked open, which means anyone can attend, including family. 17 are marked closed, for people who want to stop drinking.
What is the difference between a group and a meeting?
One, and everything it runs is listed above. A group is the set of people who hold a meeting, so one group can account for several entries in the week.
Does it cost anything to go to an AA meeting?
No. There is no fee, no membership charge and nothing to pay at the door. The basket covers rent, literature and coffee, and nothing else. There is no salary anywhere in it. The only thing a first visit costs is the time and the drive.
How do people handle a family member who refuses help?
The one thing in your control is what you do, which is not much comfort and is still true. Al-Anon is a separate fellowship for the family and friends of people who drink, and it exists precisely for the person who cannot make someone go. Going once costs you only the evening.
