Overview
The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) provides a comprehensive range of services to support individuals struggling with substance abuse. Established in 1958, CADA offers both residential and outpatient treatment programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of their clients, including specialized services for pregnant women and gender-specific community groups. Their programs are designed to foster long-term recovery through individual counseling, family sessions, educational lectures, 12-step support groups, and daily recreational activities.
Services
- Residential Treatment: This high-intensity program provides 24/7 care and includes a step-down option for extended low-intensity treatment. It’s aimed at individuals needing immediate and intensive support to overcome addiction.
- Outpatient Services: These programs help clients develop early recovery skills, manage stress, and identify triggers. They offer flexibility for those who cannot commit to residential treatment.
- Peer Support: CADA employs peer recovery specialists who have personal experience with addiction and have undergone formal training to support others in their recovery journey. These specialists provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance, bridging gaps in the treatment process
- Crisis Outreach Team: Funded by the Louisiana State Opioid Response Program (LaSOR), this team provides community-based services, meeting clients wherever they are in their recovery. They focus on high-risk populations, including the uninsured, criminal justice population, state-recognized tribes, and pregnant women.
- Educational and Support Programs: The Tootsie Davis Family Education and Support Program offers group sessions for families and loved ones of those struggling with addiction, helping them understand and cope with the challenges of living with an addicted individual.
CADA’s mission is to educate, counsel, and treat individuals of all ages suffering from alcoholism and other addictive diseases, emphasizing the importance of a supportive community in achieving lasting recovery.
